Born in London and loved all over the world, we’ve been sharing the joy of Jellycat toys with people of every age for twenty-five years. During this time, our one-of-a-kind characters have won the hearts of millions and taken pride of place in some of the most prestigious stores across seventy-seven countries.

Our designers experiment and play until something truly magical happens — and a new character comes to life. Every Jellycat is made from carefully chosen materials that are irresistibly soft, beautifully subtle, and made to last.

What makes a Jellycat special? It might be the way it fits perfectly in your hand, the expression that says more than words ever could, or the comforting feeling of holding one close. For everyone, the answer is a little different — and that’s where the magic lies.

The story of Jellycat goes back further than anyone can quite remember, all the way to the dawn of time — to the birth of the very first potato. In those early days, the Jellycat family was more like a lively tribe, full of curiosity and always ready for fun. With every generation, one cat was chosen to wear a special Jelly hat, a symbol of joy that reminded them to stay playful and share happiness wherever they went.

Cats have a special fondness for the number nine, so in 1999, the ninth generation opened Jellycat Studios in London to spread joy around the world through toys, accessories, books, music, films, and stories shared online. The ninth cat is named Jack Jellycat, and this year, he’s traveling the globe to tell this tale and celebrate twenty-five wonderful years of Jellycat Studios.
